    FAQ’s

Am I at risk of the tick-borne disease?

The risk of contracting the tick-borne disease is generally quite low.  It’s best to consider getting vaccinated if you’re planning to visit a country where infection is common, and you have plenty of outdoor activities planned.

What symptoms should I be wary of?

If you’ve recently visited a high-risk country and you feel flu like symptoms (hot and shivery, headaches, nausea and muscle aches) and/or you have a circular red rash on a part of your body, these can both be early signs of infection.

How can I avoid tick bites?

While we do wholly recommend a tick-borne vaccination before travelling to a country where infection is common, there are other ways to reduce the risk of being bitten. This includes covering your skin while walking outdoors, taking advantage of insect repellent, and sticking to paths where possible.
